Volleyball Recap: Calvary Christian Academy Takes a Loss

Calvary Christian Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat dating back to last season. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Villa Grove Blue Devils. If the Knights were looking for revenge after losing 2-0 to the Blue Devils when the teams met back in August of 2023, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Calvary Christian Academy started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last two. The match finished with set scores of 19-25, 25-22, 15-9.

Calvary Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Villa Grove, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-5.

Looking ahead, Calvary Christian Academy will head out on the road to challenge Urbana University at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Villa Grove, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 2-0 defeat against Blue Ridge on the 6th.
