Preview: Evergreen Lutheran Eagles vs. Quilcene Rangers
Evergreen Lutheran has been on the road for two straight, but on Thursday they'll finally head home. After both having extra time off, the Evergreen Lutheran Eagles and the Quilcene Rangers will shake off the cobwebs and take on one another at 5:30 p.m. on January 4th. Evergreen Lutheran will be strutting in after a win while Quilcene will be coming in after a defeat.
Even though Evergreen Lutheran has not done well against Sound Christian recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way back in December of 2023. Evergreen Lutheran strolled past Sound Christian with points to spare, taking the game 45-31.
Meanwhile, Quilcene's recent rough patch got a bit rougher back in December of 2023 after their fourth straight loss dating back to last season. They had to suffer through a rough 50-12 loss at the hands of Crescent. Quilcene was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 26-2.
Evergreen Lutheran's victory was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 2-0. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.4 points per game. As for Quilcene, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.
Everything came up roses for Evergreen Lutheran against Quilcene in their previous meeting back in January of 2023 as the team secured a 61-28 victory. Does Evergreen Lutheran have another victory up their sleeve, or will Quilcene turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
