Basketball Recap: Air Academy Sets Scoring Season-High Against Falcon

Air Academy scored the most points they've had this season on Saturday, but it wasn't enough. The contest between them and the Falcon Falcons didn't end well, with the Air Academy Kadets falling 72-56. While losing is never fun, the Kadets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 215th, while the Falcons are ranked 74th).

Air Academy's loss came despite strong showings from Sam Brennan and Levi Wyman. Brennan posted 11 points, while Wyman earned eight points and five rebounds. Those 11 points gave Brennan a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Brody Winnett, who put up eight points and three blocks.

Christian Bertholf was his usual excellent self, going 9 of 10 on his way to 21 points and eight rebounds for Falcon. Bertholf has been hot, having posted eight or more boards the last five times he's played. Another player making a difference was Aiden Wood, who went 5 of 9 on his way to 14 points and six steals.

This is the second loss in a row for Air Academy and nudges their season record down to 2-5. As for Falcon, they now have a winning record of 5-4.

Air Academy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 64-48 loss against Liberty on the 7th. As for Falcon, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Sierra at 7:00 p.m.
