The home team had won the previous five meetings between Dresden and Lake County, and Dresden kept the tradition alive. The Lions blew past the Falcons, posting a 56-14 win. Considering the Lions have won seven games by more than 27 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Luke Di Pietro was his usual excellent self, rushing for 187 yards and six TDs on only 15 carries. Those six rushing touchdowns gave him a new career-high. Bruce Willis was in the mix as well, providing Dresden with two scores.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Dresden was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 306 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 196 rushing yards in seven consecutive matchups.

Dresden's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-2. The home wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 10.5 points on average over those games. As for Lake County, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-5.

Coming up, Dresden will host Middleton at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Lions will be up against the Tigers' rather soft defense (which has allowed 28.4 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. Lake County does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
