Football Game Preview: Coral Gables Cavaliers vs. Southwest Eagles

The Coral Gables Cavaliers will challenge the Southwest Eagles at 1:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses for Coral Gables and five for Southwest.

Last Wednesday, Coral Gables came up short against Homestead and fell 19-6. While losing is never fun, the Cavaliers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida football rankings (they are ranked 94th, while the Broncos are ranked 26th).

Meanwhile, Wednesday just wasn't the day for Southwest's offense. They lost 25-0 to Braddock on Wednesday.

Coral Gables' defeat dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Southwest, their loss dropped their record down to 2-9.

Things could have been worse for Coral Gables, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 27-12 loss to Southwest in their previous matchup back in March of 2022. Can the Cavaliers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
