Softball Game Preview: Mid-Carolina Rebels vs. High Point Academy Grizzlies

The Mid-Carolina Rebels will be taking part in a tournament against the High Point Academy Grizzlies at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Mid-Carolina is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.

Mid-Carolina is headed into the contest having just suffered their closest defeat since March 14th last Thursday. They fell just short of Chapin by a score of 7-5.

Meanwhile, High Point Academy narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Liberty 3-2. The victory continues a trend for the Grizzlies in their matchups with the Red Devils: they've now won three in a row.

Julie Raines spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on six hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Cheyenne Howard was excellent, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one run and one double. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March.

High Point Academy's win bumped their record up to 10-11. As for Mid-Carolina, their loss dropped their record down to 8-14.
