Baseball Recap: Northeast Find Success

Northeast was handed a 11-run defeat in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Thursday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Todd County Central Rebels 7-5. That's more bragging rights for the Eagles, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Aidan Lee tossed a big game, striking out nine batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Cameron Skaggs was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while going 4-for-4. Northeast is undefeated when Skaggs posts two or more runs, but 2-13 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Jamarion Green, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Northeast's win bumped their record up to 5-13. As for Todd County Central, their loss dropped their record down to 3-2.

Coming up, Northeast will head out to challenge Gallatin at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Todd County Central, they will be playing in front of their home fans against McLean County at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Todd County Central is facing McLean County at the right time seeing as McLean County is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
