Basketball Game Preview: Avon Lake Shoremen vs. Olmsted Falls Bulldogs

The Avon Lake Shoremen will square off against the Olmsted Falls Bulldogs at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Avon Lake is headed into Saturday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight game on Tuesday. They were beaten by Elyria 101-65. While losing is never fun, the Shoremen can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 631st, while the Pioneers are ranked 129th).

While Olmsted Falls didn't have the best season last year (they finished 8-15), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They snuck past Steele with a 69-64 victory on Tuesday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Bulldogs.

Avon Lake's defeat dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Olmsted Falls, their win bumped their record up to 6-3.
