Baseball Recap: Girard Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Girard, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with an 8-7 win over the Frontenac Raiders on Monday. This was a revenge game for the Trojans: when they faced off against the Raiders on Monday, they had to take a 2-1 loss.

Girard's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-4-1. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for Frontenac, their defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 6-3.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Raiders beat Girard by a score of 2-1 later that day.
