Basketball Recap: Harrison's Undefeated Season over After Six Games

Harrison easily dispatched McCutcheon on Friday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. The Raiders fell just short of the Avon Orioles by a score of 55-53 on Saturday. The loss was the Raiders' first of the season.

It was another big night for Jedidiah Minnett, who went 8-for-15 en route to 23 points and five boards for Avon. The contest was Minnett's third in a row with at least 20 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Alonzo Smith, who posted 12 points and five rebounds.

Having lost for the first time this season, Harrison fell to 5-1. As for Avon, their victory bumped their record up to 2-3.

Harrison will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Indianapolis Shortridge at 1:00 p.m. on January 2, 2026. As for Avon, they will take on Perry Meridian in a tournament on Saturday. The Orioles will be up against the Falcons' rather soft defense (which has allowed 65.29 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
