Baseball Recap: Guthrie Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Guthrie can bid farewell to their four-game losing streak thanks to their game on Monday. They put the hurt on the El Reno Indians with a sharp 17-1 win. Considering the Bluejays have won 11 contests by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Maddox Vaughan was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He tossed 4.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Vaughan was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

In other batting news, Hayden Clymer was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, four RBI, and one triple. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Rainwater Jace, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, one double, and one RBI.

Guthrie always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .606. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as El Reno only posted an OBP of .222.

Guthrie's victory bumped their record up to 16-12. As for El Reno, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 11-14.

Guthrie will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Indians: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
