Softball Recap: Fraser Ramblers vs. Marysville Vikings
Fraser won the last time they faced Marysville and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Ramblers walked away with a 5-2 win over the Vikings. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Ramblers.
Camilla Dawood spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on ten hits and racked up six Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk in eight consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Jazlyn Wooten was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April. Gabrielle Gajewski also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Fraser kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They are a perfect 10-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Fraser's victory bumped their record up to 12-5. As for Marysville, their loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 9-5.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Fraser will challenge L'Anse Creuse North at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Marysville, they will take on Sterling Heights Stevenson at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Vikings are facing the Titans at the right time seeing as the Titans are stuck on a 15-game losing streak.
