Basketball Recap: Kankakee Valley Skates Past Calumet New Tech with Ease

There's no place like home for Kankakee Valley, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Saturday. They took their game on Friday with ease, bagging a 77-46 victory over the Calumet New Tech Warriors. The Kougars have beaten the Warriors the last three times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Warriors has come to flipping the script.

Kankakee Valley had a senior duo take command as Brady Sampson went 11-for-19 to rack up 25 points along with eight boards and three steals and Luke Bayci went 7-for-10 en route to 17 points and five rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Bayci has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Bobby Lalonde, who posted nine points and five boards.

Kankakee Valley was working as a unit and finished the game with 14 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in December of 2024.

Kankakee Valley's win bumped their record up to 10-8. As for Calumet New Tech, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-11.

Looking ahead, Kankakee Valley will take on Knox at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Calumet New Tech, they will square off against Boone Grove at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Boone Grove is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53.1 points per game this season.
