Basketball Recap: BridgePrep Village Green Takes a Loss

BridgePrep Village Green was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were outmatched by the Westminster Christian Warriors and fell 77-23. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 548th, while the Warriors are ranked 56th).

Westminster Christian was led to victory by Julian Crespo and Cooper Whitby. Crespo went 6 of 9 en route to 22 points, while Whitby went 6 for 13 on his way to 17 points and four steals. Crespo's evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Dwight Whipple, who went 5 for 11 on his way to 11 points and three steals.

BridgePrep Village Green's loss dropped their record down to 9-7. As for Westminster Christian, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 20-5.

BridgePrep Village Green has already played their next match (against South Miami), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Westminster Christian will challenge Archimedean on Monday. One thing working in Westminster Christian's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last seven games.
