Basketball Recap: Port Gibson Snaps Six-Game Streak of Losses at Home

Port Gibson had lost five straight headed into Monday's game, but Ger'Kiya Flowers didn't let it get to six. The Port Gibson Blue Waves managed a 54-50 win over the Franklin County Bulldogs on Monday thanks in part to Flowers, who went 6 of 15 on her way to 28 points. That makes it 16 consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Port Gibson's points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Kanaja Murray, who posted 14 points and three steals. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in points.

Port Gibson's victory ended a six-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-13. As for Franklin County, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-9.

Port Gibson will venture away from home to square off against Jefferson County at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Franklin County, they will square off against Wesson at 6:00 p.m. on January 7th.
