Basketball Recap: Anthony Phagans' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Pflugerville Connally over East View

Pflugerville Connally has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. The game between them and the East View Patriots didn't end well, with the Pflugerville Connally Cougars falling 66-47. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Cougars this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 76-66 back in December of 2024.

Pflugerville Connally lost on Friday despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Anthony Phagans, who went 7 of 17 en route to 19 points. The dominant performance also gave Phagans a new career-high in blocks (two). Another player making a difference was Christian Sanders, who posted five points and seven boards.

Pflugerville Connally's defeat dropped their record down to 19-11. As for East View, they pushed their record up to 22-7 with the win, which was their sixth straight on the road.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing Elgin the next time they take the court. Pflugerville Connally will head out to face Elgin at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while East View will host them at 7:00 p.m. on January 31st.
