Softball Recap: Lakeside Christian Wins Going Away Against Hernando Christian Academy

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Northside Christian, Lakeside Christian was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 19-1 margin over Hernando Christian Academy. Considering Lakeside Christian has won six contests by more than six runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Jamisen Rheintgen made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out six batters over three innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Rheintgen was also big at the plate, scoring three runs while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, Jaci Morris and Christine Trofemuk did most of the damage at the plate: Morris scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-2, while Trofemuk scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-2. Another player making a difference was Ruthy Saul, who scored three runs while going 1-for-3.

Lakeside Christian has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.0 runs over those games. As for Hernando Christian Academy, they dropped their record down to 0-9 with the defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Lakeside Christian wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, a 12-0 victory against Saint Stephen's Episcopal on the 7th. As for Hernando Christian Academy, they will welcome Meadowbrook Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
