Basketball Recap: King Cove T-Jacks and Rookies vs. Susitna Valley Rams
The King Cove T-Jacks and Rookies stacked a tenth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Wednesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Susitna Valley 79-42 on the road. King Cove's victory was nothing new given the team hasn't lost yet this season.
Jager Brandell was his usual excellent self, scoring 30 points. He has been hot recently, having posted 21 or more points the last five times he's played. Another player making a difference was Thomas Mack, who scored 16 points.
King Cove's win was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 11-0. They've been dominating during the contests in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 33.4 points. As for Susitna Valley, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-8.
King Cove and the Eagles/Lady Eagles will face off at 6:00 p.m. on February 23rd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. As for Susitna Valley, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against the Panthers at 5:00 p.m. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Alaska (Glennallen is ranked 89th, while the Rams are ranked 81st).
