Volleyball Recap: Kate Duncan Smith DAR Takes a Loss

Kate Duncan Smith DAR was the 2-1 winner over Glencoe when they last played one another back in September, but their luck changed this time around. The Patriots fell just short of the Yellowjackets by a score of 2-1 on Saturday.

In a back-and-forth that saw neither team win consecutive sets, Kate Duncan Smith DAR sadly dropped the once that decided the match. The final score came out to 25-20, 20-25, 15-10.

Emma Guffey paced Kate Duncan Smith DAR's offense, picking up 14 kills. Guffey got some help from Gillian Head and her 25 assists. Anna Turley and Shayna Russell kept things locked in from the service line: the pair finished with two aces apiece.

Kate Duncan Smith DAR's loss dropped their record down to 30-23. As for Glencoe, they pushed their record up to 30-14 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home.

Coming up, Kate Duncan Smith DAR will challenge Madison County at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Glencoe, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 2-1 defeat against Pleasant Valley on the 11th.
