Preview: Roanoke Rapids Yellowjackets vs. Southeast Halifax Trojans
The Roanoke Rapids Yellowjackets will head out on the road to face off against the Southeast Halifax Trojans at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Roanoke Rapids comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
Last Wednesday, Roanoke Rapids came up short against Northampton County and fell 60-47.
Roanoke Rapids' loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Shaniah Daniels, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 10 rebounds, and Kayla Whitfield who dropped a double-double on 25 points and 10 rebounds. Whitfield scored a full 53.2% of Roanoke Rapids' points, the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Meanwhile, Southeast Halifax had to hit the road for their first game and sadly it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They were beaten by Nash Central 76-10 on Tuesday.
The losses dropped Roanoke Rapids to 0-3 and Northampton County to 1-1.
