Holy Trinity fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against Yorkville Christian on Saturday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Mustangs by a score of 5-4. The Tigers' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Holy Trinity saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Andrew Ruiz, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. Jovanni Cortez was another, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one run.

Holy Trinity's defeat dropped their record down to 13-10-1. As for Yorkville Christian, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 11-6-1 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Holy Trinity will face off against Westmont at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Yorkville Christian, they will take on Ida Crown Jewish Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
