Basketball Recap: Woodlawn Takes a Loss

Woodlawn was the 65-57 winner over New Athens when they last played one another back in February of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Woodlawn Cardinals fell just short of the New Athens Yellow Jackets by a score of 78-75 on Friday. The Cardinals just can't catch a break and have now endured four losses in a row.

Woodlawn's defeat dropped their record down to 18-12. As for New Athens, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-10 record this season.

Woodlawn will challenge Zeigler-Royalton at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. New Athens does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
