Preview: Ann Sobrato Bulldogs vs. Live Oak Acorns
After two games on the road, Ann Sobrato is heading back home. They will take on the Live Oak Acorns at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.
Last Friday, Ann Sobrato came up short against Silver Creek and fell 58-49. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Ann Sobrato in their matchups with Silver Creek: they've now lost seven in a row.
Meanwhile, Live Oak pushed their score all the way to 61 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They received a tough blow as they fell 78-61 to Hill. Live Oak has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Despite their loss, Live Oak saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Austin Jennings, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 16 rebounds, was perhaps the best of all. Jennings hasn't dropped below 15points for five straight games. Another player making a difference was Raymond Ramirez, who scored 17 points.
Ann Sobrato's defeat dropped their record down to 9-9. As for Live Oak, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost eight of their last nine contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-14 record this season.
Ann Sobrato beat Live Oak 57-46 when the teams last played back in December of 2023. Will Ann Sobrato repeat their success, or does Live Oak have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
