It was a good run, but Monticello unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-match winning streak on Saturday. They fell just short of the Maple Grove Crimson by a score of 2-1. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Crimson this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-1 back in September.

Alayna Opatz paced Monticello's offense, picking up seven kills. Opatz got some help from Brooklyn Sigler and her nine assists.

Monticello's defeat dropped their record down to 18-7. As for Maple Grove, the win was the 19th in a row for them, bringing their record up to 23-3.

Monticello has already played their next contest, a 2-0 victory against St. Michael-Albertville on the 11th. As for Maple Grove, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-0 win against Barron on the 11th.
