Baseball Recap: Flat Rock Victorious

Flat Rock proved they can win big on Saturday (they won by ten) and on Monday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-4 victory over the Jefferson Bears. The win continues a trend for the Rams in their matchups with the Bears: they've now won six in a row.

The team relied heavily on Mikey Giroux, who went 3-for-4 with two doubles, one stolen base, and two RBI. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Ty Bergeron was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run.

Flat Rock's victory bumped their record up to 11-4. As for Jefferson, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-8.

Looking ahead, Flat Rock will be playing at home against Huron at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Chiefs will roll in looking for their 18th straight win, something the Rams surely won't give up without a fight. As for Jefferson, they will venture away from home to face off against Grosse Ile at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Red Devils have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed nine runs per game on average), something the Bears will no doubt try to take advantage of.
