St. Mary and DePaul Catholic squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but St. Mary had to settle for second. They lost 7-1 to the Spartans. The Gaels' defeat signaled the end of their eight-game winning streak.

St. Mary's loss dropped their record down to 19-7. As for DePaul Catholic, they are on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 14 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-5 record this season.
