Soccer Recap: Duluth Comes Up Short

If Duluth was feeling good fresh off their 6-2 takedown of Northview on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. While the 3-3 score might suggest a draw, it was the Lanier Longhorns who were credited with the win on Thursday. The Lanier Longhorns got it done in the shootout by posting eight goals to the Duluth Wildcats' seven. Duluth were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Lanier apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in March of 2025.

Ali Mashood and Felipe Lozano scored all three of Duluth's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 12 goals.

Duluth dropped their record down to 9-7-1 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Lanier, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 11-5.

As of now, neither Duluth nor the Longhorns have any future games scheduled.
