Newman Central Catholic's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They walked away with a 7-4 victory over the Erie-Prophetstown Panthers. This was a revenge game for the Comets: when they faced off against the Panthers last Wednesday, they had to take a 3-2 defeat.

Evan Bushman tossed a big game, pitching six innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off eight hits. He has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than two walks in ten consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Garet Wolfe was excellent, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one run.

With the win, Newman Central Catholic broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 24-7-1. As for Erie-Prophetstown, their loss dropped their record down to 7-13.

Newman Central Catholic wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 10-7 victory against Alleman on the 24th. Erie-Prophetstown does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
