Softball Game Preview: Acorn Tigers vs. Hackett Hornets

Acorn is 0-4 against Hackett since March of 2019 but things could change on Tuesday. The Tigers will head out on the road to challenge the Hornets at 4:30 p.m. Acorn has given up an average of 6.9 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

It was a proper cat-fight when Acorn faced off against Hector on Friday. The Tigers lost 13-1 to the Wildcats. The Tigers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Hackett's hitters rose to the challenge against a Rockets pitching crew that boasted an average of only 2.64 runs allowed on Thursday. The Hornets blew past Scranton 11-1. Considering the Hornets have won eight matches by more than nine runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

The win made it two in a row for Hackett and bumps their season record up to 15-3. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 1 runs in those games. As for Acorn, their loss dropped their record down to 4-4.

Acorn might still be hurting after the 15-0 defeat they got from Hackett when the teams last played back in March. Can the Tigers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
