Softball Recap: Elberta Takes a Loss

Elberta scored first but ultimately less than Cottage Hill Christian Academy in their game on Saturday. They fell just short of Cottage Hill Christian Academy by a score of 7-6. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Elberta of the 8-3 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2025.

Lynleigh May made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 1-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Another player making a difference was Addison Cranford, who went 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

Elberta has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-12 record this season. As for Cottage Hill Christian Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-8 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Elberta will host LeFlore at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Cottage Hill Christian Academy, they will look to defend their home field on Monday against Flomaton at 6:00 p.m.
