Football Game Preview: Tri-Valley Mustangs vs. Lennox Orioles

Tri-Valley and Lennox are an even 3-3 against one another since September of 2015, but not for long. The Mustangs will welcome the Orioles at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

On Friday, Tri-Valley strolled past Vermillion with points to spare, taking the game 36-21.

Meanwhile, Lennox faced Madison in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Orioles blew past the Bulldogs 44-19. The result was nothing new for the Orioles, who have now won four contests by 20 points or more so far this season.

The win was the third in a row for Lennox, bringing their record up to 5-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 14.0 points on average over those games. As for Tri-Valley, their win bumped their record up to 5-2.

Tri-Valley took a serious blow against Lennox in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, falling 46-8. Thankfully for the Mustangs, Boston Katzer (who threw for 362 yards and six touchdowns while completing 76.5% of his passes) won't be suiting up this time.
