Volleyball Recap: Red Bluff Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Red Bluff was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They lost 3-0 to the Pleasant Valley Vikings. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Vikings this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in September.

While Red Bluff was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Pleasant Valley's winning margin in every set. The final score came out to 25-7, 25-10, 25-14.

Leading Pleasant Valley to victory were Keira Purvis and Katelynn Enos. Purvis had six digs and five aces, while Enos had five digs and two aces. That's the most aces Enos has posted over her last six contests. Kate Giezentanner also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

Red Bluff's defeat dropped their record down to 11-19. As for Pleasant Valley, their win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-8.

Red Bluff and Pleasant Valley could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps California Rankings. The Spartans will square off against Shasta at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank disadvantage (722 vs. 309). Meanwhile, Pleasant Valley (ranked 202nd) will meet Westview (ranked 43rd) at 11:00 a.m. on Friday.
