Softball Recap: Mountain View Prep Victorious

Mountain View Prep was not the first on the board on Monday, but they got there more often. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 10-8 win over the Wren Hurricanes. For the Stars, this counts as revenge for the 5-2 victory the Hurricanes walked away with the last time they faced one another back in March of 2025.

Braley Richardson and Payton Todd did most of the damage at the plate: Richardson went 3-for-4 with one home run, two stolen bases, and two runs, while Todd went 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most hits Richardson has posted since back in April of 2025. Emma Stott was another key player, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Mountain View Prep kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in seven consecutive games.

Mountain View Prep's win bumped their record up to 4-5. As for Wren, they now also have a losing record of 4-5.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mountain View Prep will take on Chapman at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Stars' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Panthers have averaged an impressive 6.5 runs per game this season. As for Wren, they will challenge Laurens at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Raiders have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.07 runs per game on average), something the Hurricanes will no doubt try to take advantage of.
