Football Recap: Inspired Vision Comes Up Short

Inspired Vision extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to six on Friday, dropping them down to 0-5. They were outmatched by the Blooming Grove Lions and fell 55-0. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the EAGLES of the 60-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

Blooming Grove's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-5. Their offense finally found a way to get into gear: the high-octane performance was a 180-degree turn from their last five games.

Blooming Grove's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Billy Thomas, who threw for 117 yards and a pair of touchdowns on perfect 7-for-7 passing, and also rushed for 47 yards and one score. Another back making a difference was Gryason Baumgartner, who gained 139 total yards and two touchdowns.

Inspired Vision and Blooming Grove will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next contests. The next time the EAGLES see the field they'll take on Rice at 7:00 p.m. on the 17th. As for Blooming Grove, their break will end when they face Trinity Leadership at 7:00 p.m. on the 17th.
