Softball Recap: Godley Beats Life Waxahachie for Their Fifth Straight Win

Godley entered their tilt with Life Waxahachie on Friday with four consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with five. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Mustangs a 15-0 shutout. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 16-0 back in March.

Alyssa Castillo was a standout: she scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-2. Another player making a difference was Samantha Andersen, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.

Castillo wasn't the only one making solid contact: Godley kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in five consecutive contests.

Godley's record now sits at 20-6. As for Life Waxahachie, their defeat was their 17th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-15.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Godley is set to challenge their familiar foe Venus at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Wildcats 3.4, the Bulldogs 3.3) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Life Waxahachie will take on rival Alvarado at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
