Basketball Recap: Andruw Castellanos' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Norwalk over Oxford Academy

Norwalk was the 54-45 winner over Oxford Academy when they last played one another back in November of 2018, but their luck changed this time around. The Norwalk Lancers fell 43-36 to the Oxford Academy Patriots on Friday. The game marked the Lancers' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Norwalk's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Andruw Castellanos, who posted ten points and seven rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Diego Morales, who put up eight points and six rebounds.

Norwalk has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-5 record this season. As for Oxford Academy, their win bumped their record up to 9-3.

Norwalk and Magnolia will face off at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played. Norwalk is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53.1 points per game this season. As for Oxford Academy, they and Chowchilla will face off at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played.
