Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Saint Andrew couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They fell just short of The First Academy Royals by a score of 3-2 on Tuesday. The Scots' defeat signaled the end of their six-game winning streak.

Carter Derks was huge no matter where he played even without the win. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in 12 consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Saint Andrew's loss dropped their record down to 22-7. As for The First Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won 20 of their last 21 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 29-4 record this season.
