Haywood had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 35.5 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They escaped with a win against the Jackson North Side Indians by the margin of a single free throw, 71-70. This was a revenge game for the Tomcats: when they faced off against the Indians two weeks ago, they had to take a 79-67 loss.

Haywood's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Antrell Jones, who went 8 for 13 on his way to 21 points. Jones has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. Lekenndric Watkins was another key player, almost dropping a double-double on 20 points and nine rebounds.

Several Indians players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Lincoln Woods, who posted 16 points. Javonte Smith was another key player, putting up 16 points.

Haywood's victory bumped their record up to 4-7. As for Jackson North Side, they moved to 9-1 with that defeat, which also ended their nine-game winning streak.

Haywood didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 62-53 loss against Jackson South Side on the 20th. Jackson North Side has also already played their next contest, a 61-21 win against Liberty Tech Magnet on the 20th.
