Baseball Game Preview: Jackson Center Tigers vs. Bradford Railroaders

The Jackson Center Tigers will square off against the Bradford Railroaders at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Bradford took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Jackson Center, who comes in off a win.

Jackson Center is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Fairlawn on Thursday, sneaking past 7-5. The victory continues a trend for the Tigers in their matchups with the Jets: they've now won three in a row.

Blake Noble made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over seven innings while giving up four earned (and one unearned) runs off 14 hits (and not a single walk). Noble was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Noble wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Preston Serr, who went 1-for-4 with two runs and one RBI. That's the most runs Serr has posted since back in April. Brendan Serr was another, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI.

Meanwhile, Bradford was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 19th straight defeat dating back to last season. They came up short against Greenville, falling 15-3.

Jackson Center's win bumped their record up to 7-11. As for Bradford, their loss dropped their record down to 0-18.

Jackson Center was able to grind out a solid victory over Bradford when the teams last played back in April of 2024, winning 12-7. Do the Tigers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Railroaders turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
