Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Latta couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They fell just short of the Lake View Wild Gators by a score of 4-3 on Wednesday. The Vikings' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Preston Brown spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered four runs (all of which were unearned) on five hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Latta saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Seth Minshew, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.

Latta's defeat dropped their record down to 20-9. As for Lake View, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 16-6.

While Latta had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
