Football Recap: Monticello Takes a Loss

Monticello fell victim to Milford and their airtight defense on Thursday. They took a blow against the Tigers, falling 67-0. The Buckaroo haven't had much luck with the Tigers recently, as the team has come up short the last seven times they've met.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Milford to victory, but perhaps none more so than Carson Cheney, who threw for 276 yards and five TDs while picking up 13.8 yards per attempt. Cheney also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, making three total tackles and defending one pass in addition to snagging an interception. Another rusher making a difference was Tayon Blackburn, who rushed for 118 yards and a pair of scores on only eight carries.

Monticello's loss dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Milford, their victory was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-2.

Looking ahead, Monticello will host Water Canyon at 7:00 p.m. on the 17th. Milford does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
