The Dakota Ridge Eagles will venture away from home to square off against the Green Mountain Rams at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The two teams are strolling into their games after big wins in their previous games.
Dakota Ridge came out on top against Pomona on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run fifth inning. The Eagles put the hurt on the Panthers with a sharp 8-2 win. The Eagles haven't had any issues with the Panthers recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.
Matt Larmore made a splash while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run over six innings pitched. Larmore was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with three RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April of 2024.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Breckin Maynes, who went 1-for-2 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. That triple marked the first that he has hit this season. Another player making a difference was Kellen Behrendsen, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI.
Meanwhile, Green Mountain entered their tilt with Wheat Ridge on Thursday with five consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with six. They were the clear victors by a 23-8 margin over the Farmers. With that win, the Rams brought their scoring average up to 6.3 runs per game.
Like Dakota Ridge, Green Mountain also got a great game from a two-way player: Hudson Burke. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Burke was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with three runs and two RBI.
In other batting news, Caden Kelly was a standout: he went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. Corbin Wade was another key player, going 3-for-5 with four RBI, two runs, and two doubles.
Green Mountain kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in six consecutive contests.
Green Mountain pushed their record up to 9-3-1 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.8 runs over those games. As for Dakota Ridge, their record now sits at 4-9.
