Volleyball Recap: Potomac School Panthers vs. Flint Hill Huskies
Potomac School and Flint Hill squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Potomac School had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Flint Hill Huskies by a score of 3-2. The Panthers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Huskies apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October.
Potomac School took a 2-1 lead headed into the fourth set, but sadly they lost the next two. The final score came out to 14-25, 25-15, 17-25, 25-17, 15-13.
Skylar Giuliani paced Potomac School's offense, picking up 17 kills. Giuliani got some help from
Adalena Rodgers and her 17 assists. Rodgers also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with
Lily Gurney, racking up four apiece.
Flint Hill found their leader in sophomore Caroline Semko, who had 13 digs and a block.
Potomac School's defeat ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 13-4. As for Flint Hill, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 21-5.
Potomac School does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Flint Hill, they will square off against Bishop O'Connell at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Bishop O'Connell will roll in looking for their 11th straight victory, something Flint Hill surely won't give up without a fight.
