Softball Recap: Northville Comes Up Short

Northville dropped their record down to 5-7 on Sunday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins. They came up short against the Schoharie Storm, falling 10-0. If the Falcons were looking for revenge after losing 19-7 to the Storm when the teams met back in May of 2019, then they'll just have to keep looking.

As for Schoharie, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-8 record this season. The high-scoring effort was just what they needed considering they were shut out in their previous contest.

For Schoharie's part, Kayla Hayes made a splash while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out ten over seven innings pitched. Hayes has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 11 consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Arabella Donzelli, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Alaina Martin, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

As of now, neither Northville nor Schoharie have any future games scheduled.
