Baseball Game Preview: Dupo Tigers vs. Chester Yellowjackets

The Dupo Tigers will head out to square off against the Chester Yellowjackets at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Dupo is coming into the matchup on a four-game losing streak.

Dupo came up short against Marissa/Coulterville on Tuesday, falling 9-3.

Dupo saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jaxson Franke, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI. Another was Brady Portell, who scored a run and stole two bases.

Meanwhile, Chester fell victim to Red Bud and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They lost 17-0 to the Musketeers. The defeat continues a trend for the Yellowjackets in their meetings with the Musketeers: they've now lost three in a row.

Dupo's loss dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Chester, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 2-5.

Dupo skirted past Chester 12-11 when the teams last played back in April of 2022. Will the Tigers repeat their success, or do the Yellowjackets have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
