Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Cosby). They put the hurt on the Cordia Lions with a sharp 20-3 win on Saturday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Eagles considering their one-run performance the game before.

The team relied heavily on Jackson Brannon, who scored three runs and stole two bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Matthew McMahan, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.

Cosby always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .594. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Cordia only posted an OBP of .350.

Cosby's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-12-1. As for Cordia, their loss was their 17th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-10.

Looking ahead, Cosby will face off against Hancock County at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The contest will give the Eagles their first taste of in-conference action this season. As for Cordia, they will square off against Buckhorn at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
