Basketball Recap: Wilson Comes Up Short

Wilson lost against Petersburg back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Wilson Mustangs took a blow against the Petersburg Buffaloes, falling 57-28. The Mustangs were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 36-12.

Lucas Rendon was the offensive standout of the match as he posted 16 points. He has been hot recently, having posted 16 or more points the last four times he's played. Another player making a difference was Nathan Mulkey, who put up eight points.

Wilson has traveled a rocky road recently having lost ten of their last 11 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-14 record this season. As for Petersburg, their victory bumped their record up to 7-10.

Wilson wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 65-19 loss against O'Donnell on the 17th. As for Petersburg, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 66-20 defeat against Crosbyton on the 17th.
