Westview had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the seven-run drubbing they dealt Valley Center on Monday. Westview put the hurt on Valley Center with a sharp 7-0 win. The victory continues a trend for the Wolverines in their matchups with the Jaguars: they've now won three in a row.

Jacob Kuy made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out nine over six innings pitched. Those two hits allowed gave him a new career-low. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March of 2024.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ethan Holeman, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4. He also put up a double, which was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Mahir Desai, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2.

Westview's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 3-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.7 runs over those games. As for Valley Center, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-2.

Westview wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 9-4 win against Canyon Crest Academy on the 20th. As for Valley Center, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 7-5 victory against Mission Vista on the 19th.
