Basketball Game Preview: Elkhorn South Storm vs. Lincoln North Star Navigators

The Elkhorn South Storm will head out on the road to square off against the Lincoln North Star Navigators at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Elkhorn South is headed into the game after thoroughly thrashing Burke: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Elkhorn South blew Burke out of the water with a 73-29 final score. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 44-15.

Meanwhile, Lincoln North Star waltzed into their matchup on Thursday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They walked away with a 54-43 victory over the Thunderbirds.

Lincoln North Star's win came from a few key players Elkhorn South will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Kendall Anderson, who went 5 of 9 to rack up 15 points and five assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Ani Leu, who went 5 for 10 on her way to 12 points in addition to six rebounds and three steals.

Elkhorn South's record now sits at 5-13. As for Lincoln North Star, their record is now 14-4.

Elkhorn South came up short against Lincoln North Star when the teams last played back in January of 2024, falling 61-48. Can Elkhorn South avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
