Softball Game Preview: Medina Valley Panthers vs. United South Panthers

Medina Valley will head out on the road to take on United South at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Medina Valley will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.

If Medina Valley beats United South with 17 runs on Wednesday, it's going to be the squad's new lucky number: they've won their past two games with that exact score. The Panthers beat United on Saturday by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 17-7. The Panthers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 matchups by six runs or more this season.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 13 runs the game before, United South was a bit more limited in their contest on Friday. They lost 9-2 to Del Rio. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Panthers have suffered against the Rams since March 22, 2022.

Medina Valley pushed their record up to 16-8 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.6 runs on average over those games. As for United South, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 13-14-1 record this season.

Medina Valley was able to grind out a solid win over United South in their previous matchup back in March, winning 7-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for Medina Valley since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
